WHY I DECIDED TO TRY ENGRAVING…

Long before I engraved my first hare (all other engravings followed my first hare, I think deer came next…) I used to search and research, ponder and admire, stare and examine others work, whatever medium it was in; because I loved what they did not because I wanted to do the same too.

My thing was making leaded stained glass panels, but as you may know, before you can lead up a panel the lead came has to be stretched. I have a clamp for this attached to a large ‘T’ frame that fits in a door way so I can stretch the lead on my own. It looks like a giant crossbow.

But so many times the lead snapped and I fell on my behind and I began to get very painful hips so I started making smaller panels to use up odd short pieces of lead came and small left over segments of stained glass.
